About me
Hi, I'm Russell Thorn, a developer and designer with over a decade of experience. Working on a huge variety of sites from large government sites and services, to sites for the largest retail sites across the country and London's famous West End.
Over the years I have been involved in all aspects of production and process. From concept to design to user testing and development.
I believe in user centric design. Designing and developing around user needs.
Working in an agile environment to create a minimal viable product (MVP) and iterating quickly and deploying updates and improvements often, as opposed to building large legacy systems.
Prototyping, user testing, building, further testing and iterating based on analytics data and findings over longer time periods. A continuous loop.
For me, accessibility is also a hugely important part of the development process, as is cross browser and cross device compatibility and responsiveness.
A site or service needs to be inclusive and usable to all who need to access it. From users that use screen readers like blind and short sighted people to people who are colour blind or have dyslexia. From unconfident users to the experienced users, young and old users alike.
